Best Western International, Inc., the world's largest lodging chain, has
awarded its Chairman's Award to the Best Western Hacienda Hotel in San
Diego's historic Old Town area, announced Lynn Farrar, Hacienda Hotel general
manager.

The 197-suite Hacienda, known for its secluded hillside location and
classic Spanish mission motif, earned the chain's highest honor by scoring a
perfect 1,000 points out of a possible 1,000 during an inspection for quality
standards in cleanliness and maintenance, as well as design and customer
service, Farrar said.

"This award demonstrates our commitment to providing outstanding quality
accommodations for our guests," said Farrar. "Our housekeeping and
maintenance departments have worked hard to achieve this level of excellence."
The Best Western flag is affiliated with more than 300,000 guest rooms at
4,100 independently owned and operated hotels in 82 countries and territories.
The Best Western Hacienda, located at 4041 Harney St., San Diego,
provides exceptional travel values and is adjacent to the Acapulco
Restaurant, known for scrumptious appetizers and a traditional Mexican
cuisine with a Southwestern flair in a colorful and casual ambience. Guests
can bring food or order items from the Acapulco and then barbecue their own
meal on one of the two gas-flamed grills located in the hotel's courtyard.
